Water Desalination Plants Project - Musandam

The project is about Build, Own and Operate (BOO) contract for the construction of Water Desalination Plants in Musandam Governorate of Oman. The project's scope of work involves the construction of a small water desalination plant with the capacity of 1,000 to 10,000 cubic meters per day. The water desalination project to have a water capacity of 3.5 MIGD using a reverse osmosis technology . The 16,000 m3/d seawater desalination plant is intended to reduce the amount of water taken from wells, and to enable aquifer recharge. Omani government-owned OPWPC expects the plant to be operational by 2019. The area is currently served by a desalination plant of 450 m3/d in Kumzar, and three plants with combined capacity of 3,500 m3/; and wells. As per the Authority, little water desalination plans will be acquired on a BOO premise fundamentally in regions that are served by disengaged water systems, tanker filling stations or little desalination plants. Supply in such territories is commonly taken care of by the PAEW.
