Substation Construction Project - Khalifa Port
The project involves construction of a 33/11 kv substation, will be located at Khlifa Port in Abu Dhabi. The contract involves the design, construction, testing and commissioning of the electrical medium voltage (MV) power supply via a 33 kV power cable network and three 33kV / 11kV primary distribution substations which will provide the main power supply for the entire phase-IA of Khalifa port. It also involves the construction of civil buildings with utilities such as air conditioning, fire protection and lighting systems. Work is due to begin immediately and is scheduled for completion by May 2012. Strategically located between the cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai in Taweelah, KPIZ is a multi-billion dollar project designed as a multi-purpose facility that involves the construction of a world-scale container and industrial port in addition to the development of over 100 square kilometers of industrial, logistics, commercial, educational, and residential special economic and free zones in the first phase. KPIZ is an element of the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 and will assume a noteworthy job in the emirate's modern and financial broadening by filling in as a key center point for huge scale mechanical speculations overhauled by a world class port, transport and other foundation offices and administrations. Project is currently under tendering and bidding stage. An award for the main contract is expected to be made before the end of 2018.
