Sewerage Network Upgrade Project - Phase 6
The scope of work of this project involves carrying out upgrading of a sewerage network in Bahrain. Tenders are invited for Rehabilitation of Foul Sewerage within D, F & R Networks Area - Phase 6. The project aims to reduce leakage of underground water into the network. Sanitary Engineering Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning said, the project, which commenced in July, targets deteriorated sewerage connections in 11 blocks at the three governorates. The project comprises upgrading 8.4 km of sewerage connections with diameters varying between 150-400 mm. Latest techniques are implemented in the project, such as pipe bursting and CIPP (cured in place pipe), tight in pipe calibration and spot robotics, all of which prolong the life cycle of sewerage networks, reducing underground water seepage, alleviate pressure on pumping stations and sewage treatment plants and output gives in less inconvenience and traffic disturbance, a statement said.
