The plant is located at Ruwais Industrial Area located 240 kilometres southwest of Abu Dhabi City. Client the subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) Group, has undertaken the project to expand the capacity of the Ruwais Sulphur Handling Terminal (SHT-1) to be able to handle and process an additional 10,600 tonnes a day (t/d) of liquid sulphur that will be coming from the Hail and Ghasha offshore sour gas field development. Client manages a sprawling sulphur handling facility in the Ruwais. The complex consists of two units SHT-1 and SHT-2, which are designed to receive liquid sulphur by trucks, pipeline and ships, produce granulated sulphur, and export granulated and liquid sulphur by ship. Current plant granulation capacity of SHT-1, which includes berth No 1 and berth No 2 is 8,750 t/d.
