This project calls for the development of Riyadh City, (formerly known as the South Shamkha and North Wathba) in Abu Dhabi. The project is about Construction of a mixed-used development. The new city was announced alongside a series of new housing initiatives in the capital, including the launch of a new property management firm, Modon Real Estate Company, specialising in developing housing, infrastructure and community facilities to develop and manage the new development. The project aims to create a modern, integrated and sustainable community in the South Shamkha, North Wathba area, that will cut waiting time for housing for nationals by half. The total area of Riyadh City is approximately 8,000 hectares, equivalent to 45 percent of Abu Dhabi's total residential land area.The new City is located 30 kilometers from Abu Dhabi downtown and its capacity is expected to reach over 200,000 citizens by the completion of the project. It will provide low density neighbourhoods which are aligned with the needs and requirements of citizens and residents and workers in the region. Riyadh City will feature community facilities like parks, schools, shops, mosques, medical centres and community centres that meet or exceed the highest international standards of sustainability. The City will have significant open spaces and will accommodate the largest park in Abu Dhabi. The total area of Riyadh City is approximately 8 thousand hectares, equivalent to 85% of the land area of Abu Dhabi island, and increases the available residential plots by adding another 45% of the total residential plots in Abu Dhabi. The City is located at Abu Dhabi and is projected to become home to people by the time it is completed creating one of the most prominent residential projects in Abu Dhabi and the UAE. The new units will also provide housing for population segments, such as single female citizens, first time property buyers and other UAE nationals working in Abu Dhabi. Properties, a master developer has been mandated by the Abu Dhabi government to develop vibrant housing projects in the emirate as a modern, integrated and sustainable society which promotes Emirati lifestyle and culture.
