The project is about Build Own Operate (BOO) Contract for a Photovoltaic Power Plant with Total Installed Capacity of 600mw in West of Nile Area under Usufruct Agreement with NREA, that the Project Land Ownership will be Transferred to NREA without Any Constraints by the End of the Project Life-Time (25 Years). It is located at Egypt. The Egyptian Electricity Transmission CompanyÂ’s (EETC) invitation to local and foreign developers and investors to submit technical and financial offers to build 600MW of solar PV confirms that no further projects will be develop the Feed-in Tariff programme, other than the 33 solar plants currently planned or under construction at Benban. The project will be constructed in the West of Nile Area, a zone under the authority of the New and Renewable Energy Authority, which occupies a large area within Minya province. As the country moves towards a new auction mechanism, which has replaced the FIT scheme for large-scale solar with a tender for the deployment of 600 MW of PV capacity in the West of Nile Area issued in December, the MIGA-backed projects will be realized under the second round of EgyptÂ’s solar FIT program. In the two rounds of the FIT program, around 2 GW of solar PV capacity was allocated and is expected to be achieved via the development of 40 individual solar parks of around 50 MW each.
