This project involves construction of a liquefaction plant located at the Sohar Port in Oman. The LNG plant will comprise a train of around 1 Mt per year and will offer the flexibility for expansion as requiraed by the development of the LNG bunkering market. The break understanding enable the organization to move towards the last understandings for this incorporated gas venture with different organizations and the Ministry of Oil and Gas, expected to be marked in the second 50% of 2019, Yves Le Bail, nation seat for Oman and overseeing executive of Total Exploration and Production Oman said. The Company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Oman to develop natural gas resources in Oman. The awarded Company will use its equity gas entitlement as feedstock to develop a regional hub for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunkering service to supply LNG as a fuel to marine vessels. In Oman, the companyÂ’s production was 37 kboe/d in 2017. Total produces oil in Block 6 (4 percent) and in Block 53 (2 percent), as well as LNG through its participation in the Oman LNG (5.54 percent)/Qalhat LNG (2.04 percent) liquefaction complex with an overall capacity of 10.5 Mt/y. The project is currently in planning stage and is expected to be completed by February 2020.
