District Cooling Plant Project (DCP-2) - Dubai Creek Harbour

District cooling means the centralized production and distribution of cooling energy. The output of one cooling plant is enough to meet the cooling-energy demand of dozens of buildings. District cooling can be run on electricity or natural gas, and can use either regular water or seawater. This project involves construction of a district cooling plant will be located at Dubai Creek Harbour. The plant will comprise a basement level, a ground floor and an additional floor with chilling capacity of 36,000 tons . The state of the art plant room was covered with a façade that matches the Dubai Creek Harbour theme. In this system Chilled water is delivered via an underground insulated pipeline to office, industrial and residential buildings to cool the indoor air of the buildings within a district. It is currently under tendering stage. The main contract is expected to be awarded in third quarter of 2017.
