Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children Expansion Project - Phase 2

This project involves expansion of Danat Al Emarat Hospital in Abu Dhabi. The projects includes with the work of Construction of a new hospital with capacity of (100) beds. Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children will be a new addition to women and children healthcare services, increasing the overall capacity of beds, especially number of advanced NICU beds, as well as bringing in pediatrics subspecialties. Phase 2 of the hospital will see the provision of more healthcare services, including paediatric care and increased neonatal intensive care unit beds. The new tower will be located adjacent to the current hospital building located in Abu Dhabi Gate City and will be operational by mid 2020. The project includes opening of 50 new pediatric beds, 50 new beds for women, 3 digital operation rooms, 10 delivery rooms and 20 new beds at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The expansion project comes following detailed studies in co-operation with the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, identifying specialties needed, capacity gaps and beds required especially in the fields of pediatrics and obstetrics and gynecology. The exapansion of Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children will create 500 new jobs, of which 100 will be for new doctors, 200 for nurses, and scores more for technical staff that will join the healthcare unit upon its completion. Construction will begin in the next three months, [and] adding that with the completion of the second tower, the total number of hospital beds will increase beds covering ample of specialities. Once the second tower gets completed, the total number of hospital beds will increase to 225 beds covering various specialties. construction is likely to begin in the next three months.
