This project will be located in Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) and cover an area of 100,000 square metres. The project is about Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract to build a chemicals plant. The project involves the construction of a chemical complex to produce ethylene dichloride, spread over an area of on a 300,000 square meter plot and has room for future expansion. The plant will support the UAEÂ’s growing chemical manufacturing sector as well as supply major industrial giants with raw material. The production capacity of the first phase of the plant is expected to be 130,000 tonnes per year of caustic soda and 160,000 tonnes per year of ethylene dichloride. Residual engineering for the plant has been done. Client is yet to approve the biddersÂ’ list. The main EPC contract is expected to be awarded early next year, with completion scheduled by October 2020.
