Batinah Expressway Construction Project - Package 7

This project is in Oman. The project is about Construction of Batinah Expressway - Package 7. Works include the detailed design and construction of the following elements in Part A and Part B: (i) Part A: a) Design & Construction of Access road from IC-4 to SABLA Block 1, includes 7.5km (approx.) long single road (Service road type), 1.5km (approx.) dual carriage way (2x2 lane) and RI & RO from Batinah Expressway (1.2km (approx.) long dual carriageway and 3.4km (approx.) single carriageway). b) Design & Construction of Interchange (Dumb-bell type) at Musannah (IC4A) includes 2.8km (approx.) long link road (2x2 dual carriageway) and 2.5km (approx.) service road. c) Design & Construction of Link Road 4A with 2.1km (approx.) long dual carriageway link road, 22.75km (approx.) long single carriageway link road and 3.2km (approx.) long service road & 3 R/A. d) Design & Construction of Interchange at Tharmad R/A (IC5A) on Batinah Highway includes 3 span IC bridge, 2.7 km (approx.) long approach road to IC as 3 lane on Batinah highway, 0.7km (approx.) link road (2x2 dual carriageway), 2.1km (approx.) service road and 1 R/A. Complete scope of work under as referred in (a) above to be completed by the successful contractor within nine months from the end of the mobilization period. (ii) Part B: a) Design & Construction of Al Khabourah IC includes 3span IC bridge, 3Km (approx.) long approach road to IC as 3lane on Batinah highway, 1.9km (approx.) long link road (2x2 dual carriageway), 4km service road and 2 signalized junctions. b) Design & Construction of Interchange at Hafeet/Hijari on Batinah Highway includes 3span IC bridge, 3km (approx.) long approach road to IC as 3lane on Batinah highway, 2.2km (approx.) long link road (2x2 dual carriageway), 3.7km (approx.) service road, 1 signalized junction and major drainage channels and culverts included c) Design & Construction of IC 13 (Saham IC) Includes 3span bridge, 3.2km (approx.) long approach road to IC as 3lane on Batinah highway, 1.6km (approx.) long link road (2x2 dual carriageway), 4.1km (approx.) service road and 1 signalized junction. d) Design & Construction of Link Road 14 (Sta. 0+960 to 10+100) includes 9.2km (approx.) link road (2x2 dual carriageway) and 7.5km (approx.) service road. The scope of work includes construction of interchanges and bridges. The new expressway, which links Muscat to the Sohar Port and industrial area and to the UAE border, was opened to traffic. The project was developed with an investment of, making it one of the biggest civil engineering and infrastructure projects in the Middle East. The road has four 3.75-m-wide lanes in each direction with 3-m-wide external asphalt shoulders and 2-m wide internal shoulders. The ministry set about its work by dividing the Al Batinah Expressway construction initially into six packages. The Batinah Expressway boasts 23 interchanges, 17 flyovers and 12 ground passes in addition to 25 bridges.
