Ammonia Plant Project - Salalah Free Zone
The Luban ammonia plant will be located at Salalah Free Zone in Oman. The project consists with the work of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract to build a major Ammonia Plant with capacity of 1,000 tonnes a day. The LPG extraction venture, according to the CEO, is the first of a sizeable portfolio of new investments currently in hand for development. As we had announced at the beginning of the year, we are now finalising everything in the pipeline, the first of which was the LPG extraction plant. Soon we will talk about the Salalah ammonia project. We also want to conclude the Duqm Refinery project before we go on to announce our plans for a petrochemical complex. It is being developed in joint venture with Oman Company and Investment Company. The plant will be developed using rich hydrogen purge gas fed from the adjacent 3,000 metric tonnes per day (MTPD) methanol plant and also utilize nitrogen gas supplied from a new air separation plant, which is part of the new facility. It is understood that international engineering contractors are lining up to pre-qualify for the EPC contract. Client has set a deadline of June 07, 2014 for submission of pre-qualification offers.
