This project involves construction of a hospital in the Riyadh province in Saudi Arabia. The hos[ital will have 300-beds for the patients. Client is expected to award the design and lead consultancy contract for this development by the fourth quarter of 2018. The Expression of Interest (EOI) notice for design and lead consultancy services was issued in the first week of August 2018. Saudi Consolidated Engineering Company and Saudi Consulting Services have submitted bids for the contract. Client is expecting 11 firms to submit the tender documents but declined to reveal the names of the companies that had accepted the EOI. The main contract award is expected by mid November 2018. The hospital is due to be completed by the second quarter of 2022. In June, local English language newspaper Arab news, citing a study by consultancy firm Oxford Economics, said Saudi Arabia would need an extra 5,000 hospital beds by 2020 and 20,000 more by 2035 to meet the requirements of its growing population.
