This project will be located at Al Manama area in Ajman. The project is about Build-operate-transfer contract for construction of Ajman International Airport comprising main terminal buildings for arrivals and departures, runway, cargo complex, aviation school, airplanes maintenance workshops, free zone and commercial area. It will be built in phases and initially cater to about two million passengers per year. The government has allocated about eight kilometres of land for the scheme. The reason for the undertaking is to serve the emirate of Ajman. The airplane terminal is worked over a land territory of 6 million sq.m. That is relied upon to get more than 1 million travelers in the initial 3 years of activity. It comprises of a traveler terminal structure, a 4,000 m runway, landing and takeoff relax, a school working for staff preparing, a business locale, a free zone and office spaces. Stage 1 will take year and a half to be finished and comprises of developing the terminal structures, runways, freight complex and flying machine support workshop. The process is expected to take place before the end of 2003. Construction is expected to commence in early 2004. A detailed design will be finalised soon.
