Uthmaniyah Ethanol Feed Recovery Project
This project involves the recovery of ethane, propane and natural gas liquids (NGL) from 1.4 billion standard cubic feet per day (scfd) of sales gas at the plant site in Uthmaniyah, east of Saudi Arabia. The Uthmaniyah gas plant will process associated gas produced from Ghawar field - the largest-producing oil field in Saudi Arabia and the largest known field in the world based on reserves. Nine international engineering companies are preparing to bid for the EPC contract on the ethanol feed recovery scheme. Valued at $800-$900 million, the scheme will recover ethane, propane and natural gas liquids (NGL) from sales gas at the Uthmaniyah gas plant site.
