This project will be located at Al Aseelah in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate of Oman. It is aimed at meeting the growing demand for water in the region. The project consists with construction of an Independent Water Project (IWP) with capacity of 17.5 million imperial gallons a day (MIGD). Client will soon launch a request for qualification (RFQ) tender. It has already sought bids from consultancy firms for conducting topographic survey, Geo-technical investigation as well as bathymetric and environmental survey for identifying a suitable location for this scheme. This is the main venture of its sort in the Middle East, as the desalination plant will be created related to a committed based photovoltaic facility, which will contribute capacity to the desalination procedure. A commercial operation date for the plant is being targeted in second quarter of 2020.
