Sharqiyah Expressway (Bidbid – Sur) Project - Package 2
This project involves construction of 132-kilometre-long dual carriageway in Oman. The contract covers total 132-kilometre length from Ibra to Sur, including 14 interchange bridges along with 4 Wadi bridges, is the second part of the dualisation project of the 250km-long Bidbid-Sur carriageway that connects the capital region with key wilayats (provinces) in the Sharqiya North and South Governorates. Interchanges will also facilitate a seamless interface between the carriageway and local road networks serving many towns and villages adjoining this route. Section 2 of the undertaking is relied upon to incorporate the development of 14 exchange scaffolds. These scaffolds, together with four 'aqueduct' spans, are a piece of the administration's endeavors to encourage an interface between the carriageway and neighborhood street systems, taking into account different towns and towns abutting the course. The agreements for the initial two periods of the Bidbid-Sur dualisation venture – Section IA and Section IB – were granted by the service amid the previous two years and are at present under development. Project completion is expected in 2016. Tender opening date will be on November 05, 2012.
