Saqr Port Expansion Project
This project involves the expansion of Saqr Port in Ras Al-Khaimah. The project consist with the task of Carrying out expansion of an existing port, including dredging, reclamation and the construction of quay walls and other related port facilities. Saqr Port has eight bulk-handling berths, three container-handling berths and one general purpose berth. The venture will include digging of the offshore side of the current embankment to a profundity, the development of extra quay divider and recovered territory between the new and existing quay structures. Also a long revetment will be built toward one side of the new quay divider. Saqr Port is the greatest mass taking care of port in the Middle East, with a throughput a year. To keep pace with interest the port has additionally requested two new versatile harbor cranes from Liebherr for the port extension venture. This makes Saqr Port a vital part of the industrial supply chain throughout all of the Arabian Peninsula and beyond, providing materials for projects. It also has open storage areas in excess of 84 hectares and 42,000 square meters of covered storage. At least seven firms have been prequalified to submit bids for the main contract.
