The project involves construction of the third package on Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre in Oman. The tender is open to Specialized local or international companies registered with the Tender Board with Excellent Grade. Following are the criteria for the pre-qualification of the contractor: • Construction contractors who have previously delivered high quality projects of similar size and complexity • Contractors must have experience in construction at least one project with a construction value in excess RO 40 Million. Phase three of the OCEC project includes building of the convention centre and facilities including auditorium and theatre, conference rooms and supporting facilities. “The package 3 has been awarded for RO85mn and the contractor has started the mobilisation process. The duration of package 3 contract is about two years to be completed,” CEO of Omran told Muscat Daily. In a meeting earlier this month Omran board members emphasised the importance of adhering to the agreed deadlines for each construction phase of OCEC project and for timely delivery of the completed first phase in 2017. Pre-qualification applications have to be submitted by April 10, 2013.
