This project will be located at Sweihan in Abu Dhabi and will be the world's largest and the emirate's first renewable energy IPP. Development of a Solar Photovoltaic Independent Power Project (IPP) with capacity of 1,177MW power generation capacity that power around 200000 homes, together with associated infrastructure in Sweihan, 125 kilometers east of Abu Dhabi in the Eastern Region. The solar plant will utilize photovoltaic (PV) solar technology. Client has invited consultants to pick up request for proposals (RFP) documents for the technical advisory contract. It is understood that the client will appoint staff on an ad-hoc basis to oversee the development of this plant, rather than forming a permanent project management unit.The energy to be produced at the plant will be able to supply power to 50,000 households.The plant is spread over a desert area of 7.8 square kilometers, is scheduled to be fully integrated with the grid in 23 months.
