Marjan Cogeneration Independent Steam And Power Project (ISPP)
This project involves construction a power plant with a capacity of 700-900MW, steam turbines and heat recovery steam generators (HRSG) for steam production in Marjan in Saudi Arabia. Client had received expressions of interest (EOI) in Feb 2018. The project is about Construction of a power plant with a capacity of 700-900MW. The plants are producing a total of 1,075MW and 4.4 million lb/h of steam, and started operation in stages. The project is one of a large number of electric power and seawater desalination projects underway in Saudi Arabia. This landmark project is the first large-scale Independent Power Project (IPP) to be undertaken in the Kingdom by the private sector, and the schemes are being seen as forerunners to other IPPs in the region as the Kingdom continues to expand its power generation facilities. It came in on time, with the contractors phasing in commercial operation. GermanyÂ’s Consulting Engineers has been appointed as consultant for the project.
