King Abdulaziz International Airport Sewage Treatment Plant Project - Phase 2

The project involves construction of a sewage treatment plant . The Jeddah Airport 2 STP will be located next to the existing Phase 1 project at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It will serve residential areas around Palestine Street and north-central neighborhoods in Jeddah city. The project will treat wastewater delivered from various parts of Jeddah city and will be executed in phases, once completed, it will have a capacity to produce around 500,000 m3 of treated water daily serving governmental, agricultural, commercial and industrial sectors of Jeddah city as well as approximately 4.5 million residents of the city. The project will be built over two stages The Stage 1 will see the treatment of 300,000 cu m of water per day starting in late 2021, while Stage 2 will add another 200,000 cu m per day when capacity at the new STP exceeds certain utilisation rates. Client has issued a request for qualification (RFQ) for the main contract. Contractors have until November 26, 2011 to respond to the RFQ. The winning bidder will provide civil, mechanical and electrical works for this project.
