Fareej Al Nasr, Al Mirqab Al-Jadeed & Al Sadd Streets Development Project

The scope of this project consist of development of the main streets in Fareej Al Nasr, Al Mirqab Al-Jadeed and Al Sadd aims to enhance traffic flow and safety and reduce congestion in this vital area that includes many commercial, residential, educational &health facilities located in Qatar. The project includes: • Development of Al Nasr Street, Al Kinana Street & Mohammed Bin Al Qasim Street, as well as other streets such as Zaid Al Khail, Al Basateen, Al Seyoul & Yasser Bin Ammar • Enhanced roads capacity by upgrading some streets from one to two lanes in each direction • Constructing & developing 5 signal-controlled intersections • Increasing traffic safety on Umm Al-Dome & Al-Muaither streets (street lighting, pavement, road signs & pedestrian crossings) • 7 KM Pedestrian • Providing 1550 car parking bays • Improving the storm water drainage network ,drainage network, and TSE network Darwish Engineering has been selected to carry out the main contract. In order to reduce the impact of construction works on the area’s residents and visitors during the project construction period, the Public Works Authority studied and designed the implementation phases so as to complete the project in the shortest possible time. All entrances to residential areas and commercial establishments will be kept open, and alternative roads will be provided when any closure or diversion is implemented. Ashghal will also install signboards on site to alert drivers during the construction period. Project is expected to be completed in Fourth quarter of 2019.
