  • Power and Energy, Water

This IPP will be located at Duqm in Oman. The installed capacity will depend on a wider study of energy options for the Duqm area. The project consist with the task of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract to build an Independent Power Project (IPP) with capacity of 300-400 MW integrated with a 1,500 cubic meters per hour seawater reverse osmosis (RO) desalination plant. The task includes the development of an Integrated Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) control plant and SWRO Desalination Water Complex (DIPWP) with an introduced power age limit of 326 MW and an introduced water age limit of 36,000 cubic meters for every day in Duqm Special Economic Zone of Oman. The DIPWP power and associated desalination facility is located in the Special Economic Zone in Duqm and is being developed by Duqm Power Company, a joint venture. The project is set to meet the requirements of the new adjacent Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Complex, complementing the sultanateÂ’s economic diversification plan and the focus on building up its industrial sector. The venture workscope likewise incorporates seawater admission and outfall facilities. This scale of plant capacity would meet requirements under all three demand scenarios through 2020. Client expects to finalize a plan for the IPP later this year, with commercial operation targeted during 2018.
