Assuit Al Walideya Power Plant Project
This project involves construction of a power plant in Egypt. The project is composed of a steam turbine with a capacity of 650 MW, condensers, generators and other facilities. The plant works through a steam boiler with supercritical pressure, fueled by natural gas and fuel oil. The output energy will be linked to the main station in Assuit with a voltage of 500 KV. . The power block is comprised of one Rankine cycle sub-critical turbine generator unit with a nominal rated capacity of 650 MW. Client has issued four tenders for this scheme - transformers, electrical works, civil works and reservoirs. Client has awarded the $5.27 million worth transformer tender to Chinese firm TBEA and $0.069 million worth civil works tender to local firm Orascom. Proposals for the $0.91 million worth pumps tender are currently under evaluation. The financing for the project has been secured through loans from international financing bodies, in addition to client's own resourcesClient will finance $170 million, roughly 23% of the total cost of the project
