The independent power project (IPP) is likely to be procured similarly as "conventional gas-based power projects". Adam and Manah areas in Dakhiliyah Governorate have been identified as prospective sites for the grid-connected renewable energy scheme. A combination of concentrated solar power and photovolatic technologies are likely to be deployed for the development. Client is planning to issue a tender for the BOO contract before the end of 2010. The scheme is likely to be privately financed, continuing Oman's model of developing independent power production.
