This project is in Doha. It involves construction of Dukhan Highway East. The project consist of carrying out upgrading of 7.5 kilometres of roads and construction of five interchanges, including the design and construction of a storm water micro-tunnel, as part of a Highway project. The undertaking includes development and overhauling of the Dukhan interstate covering 6.5 km to give double three-path streets. The task will cover 3kms of road, beginning from 1km south-east of the current Wajbah trade in the west to 0.35km from the current Al Luqta exchange in the east. The undertaking will be isolated into 3 stages.The highway runs from Bani hajer Interchange (West) to the Tilted Interchange (East) and along Al Gharrafa Road from Al Rayyan Street (South) to Thani Bin Jasim Street (North). Works include the construction of approximately 7.5 kilometers of dual carriageway road as the mainline of Dukhan Road East and 3.2 kilometers of Al Gharrafa Road. The mainline for Dukhan Road East consists of eight lanes (four lanes in each direction, separated by a median) with service roads and auxiliary lanes along sections of the road. Three grade-separated interchanges will also be constructed along Dukhan Road East. There will be significant infrastructure works as part of this scheme, featuring 10 kilometers of 2,400mm diameter micro-tunnel for drainage; 320kV high-voltage cables; and 1,400mm diameter water pipelines; 1,600mm diameter DI water pipe for Doha Mega Reservoir. A joint venture of Saudi Group and local Qatari has been appointed as the main contractor. Work is scheduled to commence in June 2011and will take 42 months to complete.
