Aljada is Sharjah’s largest ever mixed-use megaproject, spread over a 24 million sq ft area in the last large plot of undeveloped land in the heart of the city. It is the Emirate’s most exciting address and a place where living, working, relaxing and playing all come together. With great connectivity to the rest of Sharjah, Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Aljada features sizeable residential areas, its own leisure and entertainment complex. The project involves construction of Aljada Mixed-Use Project in Sharjah. The master plan will include about 800 buildings, including the residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, and leisure and entertainment segments. Aljada will feature a business park with 500,000 square metres of office space. The business park’s location is opposite Sharjah Airport International Free Zone and Sharjah International Airport, and with direct access to Al Dhaid Road. Other focal point will be the “Central Hub”, which will be the base for most of the retail, apart from leisure and entertainment options. Elements of the Central Hub will be open before the first phase is complete. The other retail spots in the development will be two tree-lined boulevards of 4.4 kilometres in length and featuring select retail and F&B offerings. The masterplan was prepared by Woods Bagot, with the firm working closely with the Sharjah Urban Planning Council. It is being developed by an UAE's newest developer. The developer is a partnership enterprise jointly founded by a local Group and Saudi Arabia's Investments Co. Included in the Central Hub will be a piazza and anchored by a musical fountain display as well as the largest children’s adventure and discovery complex in the Northern Emirates. Construction on the first phase is to begin in Q1-18. Client is planning to issue the tender for the main contract by early November 2017 and to award it in January 2018. It will be delivered in several phases starting the fourth quarter of 2019, when the developer plans to release 272 apartments along with 28 town houses and 56 semi-detached villas. The entire project is expected to be completed by 2025 and will by then have a resident base of around 70,000.
