Water Desalination Plant Project
This facility will be developed at the Dubai Aluminium (Dubal) site in Dubai. The project is about Construction of a water desalination plant with capacity of about 8 million imperial gallons a day (MIGD). In these project, The solar-powered water pumping and desalination station at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park use photovoltaic solar panels to desalinate water with Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology, with a production capacity of 50 cubic metres (around 11,000 gallons) a day. The project is in coordination with the UAE, under the umbrella of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, to provide clean and safe drinking water for people in needy countries, through funding and supporting water technology projects to combat drought. The project desalination plant uses reverse osmosis technology to produce clean energy that will fuel water desalination in an environment-friendly process for not harming the nature. The project is being built to taken up some of the advance strategies to decouple plans for water desalination and power production, as well as water desalination using solar energy. The project is being implemented by Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), which owns Emirates Aluminium and DUBAL. Client has issued request for proposals (RFPs) to prequalified companies.
