Terminals Expansion Project - King Khalid International Airport
This project is at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Scope of work will also involve the construction of aircraft aprons and stands, airport system installations, and new utilities and services. Design and Build (DB) contract for the expansion of Terminal 1, 2, 3 and 4, including additional land side work and concourses at an international airport, located 35 kilometers north of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Terminal 3 is used for all domestic flights. Terminal 4 is never been utilized since construction, and remains without air bridges. The project will also see 14 new travel gates and 80 check-in counters being set up besides 30 counters for departure and 48 counters for passport control. Furthermore, the terminals will have a baggage claim area with eight 658-m-long conveyer belts. In addition, the terminal also include a commercial space and first and business class lounges, that will come up over a 10,400-sq-m area. Client has invited contractors to pre-qualify for the DB contract and set a deadline of July 21, 2013 for firms to submit request for qualification (RFQ) documents.
