Sugar Refinery Factory Project - Hamad Port
The scope of work of this project involves construction of a sugar refinery factory to produce 110,000 tonnes of sugar a year . This project will be located near Hamad Port, 40km (25 miles) South of Doha, Qatar. The development involves construction of a sugar refinery factory to produce 110,000 tonnes of sugar a year, exceeding annual consumption estimated at 80,000 tonnes. The plant will refine 300 tonnes of sugar a day. Qatar recently depended on imports of white sugar from the UAE and Saudi Arabia. When the boycott began, Qatar diverted to provisions from India and different makers. Food prices rose after the boycott, with Saudi Arabia cutting off imports by closing Qatars only land border. A Middle East based trade source said the undertaking did not bode well dependent on the venture expected to adjust Hamad port and the expense of bundling, which would should be imported. Operations are expected to start by 2020.
