The project is about Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract to build (30 Nos.) Gas-Insulated Substations of varying voltage levels - 220kV, 132kV and 66kV - and approximately 560 kilometers of 123kV and 66kV underground cables, in Qatar. The Scope of Consultancy Services includes tendering, design verification, supervision, witnessing FAT/type tests and warranty services etc. for the area/package-wise EPC works along with EPC Telecom works which is a separate package under GTC/735/2015 (Substations). The Consultancy Services are divided in two parts. Part 1 Covers Consultancy Services related to establishment of substations, cables & all associated works of Phase 13 Transmission System Network expansion Project which corresponds to the scope of two EPC Tenders: GTC/736/2015 - Cables (awarded to five EPC Contractors) and GTC/735/2015 – Substations (awarded to three EPC Contractors). Part 2 is Framework (Call off) Agreement of this Tender, which basically covers employment of the Consultant’s staff for various services as required by the Client. The Power Transmission and Distribution Business of Indian company has been awarded the EPC contract, worth $817 million. Work is scheduled for completion in phases from 15 to 32 months.
