This project involves the phase 1 development of South Azadegan oil field, located in iran, 80 km west of the Khuzestan provincial city of Ahvaz. It is understood that (29) international companies have been prequalified to participate in the tender. South Azadegan is believed to hold an in­place oil reserve of about 33.2 billion barrels and its recoverable resources estimated at about 5.2 billion barrels. Client is likely to tender the main contract this month, with only a limited number of firms to be invited to submit bids. There is a possibility of developing the field in a consortium with British, Japanese and French companies.
