This project involves construction of a solar power plant which is a part of Phase 1 of Sino-Oman Industrial City located near the port of Duqm, Oman. The project is the first phase of the master plan, which will be able to produce solar panel with capacity of 400 megawatts (MW) per year energy per annum, which will be increased to 1,000 MW in the second phase. The project will employ 300 pe. It is understood that the design works are still in progress on this development. The project is expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2019. The project is part of Sino-Oman Industrial City which involves the development of about 11.7 square kilometers of land within the Special Economic Zone.
