Sohar - Al Dhahirah Water Transmission System Project

This projectÂ’s scope of work involves construction of a 200-kilometers water pipeline for Water Transmission System from Sohar to Al Dhahirah in Oman. This project will deliver an estimated 450000 cubic meters of potable water annually to major towns and population centres across the Governorate. The project will allow for desalinated water to be supplied to Ibri and other towns in Dhahirah Governorate, supplanting groundwater supply for the first time. Project Description: 1.Design and implementation of a line of steel pipes length 225 km diameters ranging from 1200 mm to 1600 mm. 2.Flexible floss tubes with length of 12.8 km diameter 400 mm. 3.Design and implementation of reinforced or pre-stressed concrete tanks with a capacity of not less than 350,000 m3 production tanks and 93,000 m3 distribution tanks. 4.Design and implementation of (4) new pumping stations. 5.Design and construction of chlorine building and equipment at Sohar Reservoir site. 6.Design and implementation of the automatic control system to connect with the existing Escada system and design and implementation of the new Escada system. The scope of work also includes construction of water tanks, nine hydraulic accumulators, pumping stations and related facilities, and the laying of pipelines from Sohar to Al Dhahirah, Oman.
