The scope of work of this project involves construction and completion of new Shaikh Khalifa Road link from Maliha Road though Al Madam to Al Shuwaib Road. The project is developed by a Committee of UAE. The committee approved the construction of Dh660 million, 42-kilometre road that will link the Sheikh Khalifa road from Maliha passing though Madam up to Al Shuwaib. The road, which will have three lanes in each direction, eight flyovers and three bridges, also includes upgrading to the road from the Sharjah border to the Al Shuwaib roundabout. A Local General Transport Company has been appointed as the main contractor. Construction works are currently in progress. The project is expected to be completed by December 2020.
