This project will be established on a 34-hectare plot at Salalah in Oman. It is aimed at meeting the growing demand for water in the region. Client will soon launch a request for qualification (RFQ) tender. It has already sought bids from consultancy firms for conducting topographic survey, Geo-technical investigation as well as bathymetric and environmental survey for identifying a suitable location for this scheme. The water desalination plant, which is expected to start commercial operation in 2020, will have a capacity to produce 25mn gallons per day of desalinated water using reverse osmosis technology. The project will meet the six per cent annual growth in demand for desalinated water during the coming seven years.
