Completed
Abu Dhabi
Marine Services & Seaports
This project involves extension of the existing quay wall at Mugharraq Port in Al-Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi. It requires extending the quay wall by 400 metres, including associated dredging and 286,000 square metres of reclamation work. The master developer of Khalifa Port and Kizad will add 1000 metres of quay wall to the port and deepen its main channel and basin to 18 metres from the current 16 metres. The new quay wall will add an additional 600,000 sqm for cargo handling. Companies that are understood to have been invited to bid for the contract are all from local firms. Mugharraq Port handles general cargo and limited ferry connections between Delma Island and Sir Baniyas Island. It has six roll-on/roll-off berths. The port is located approximately 240 kilometres from Abu Dhabi City.
