The project is about Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract to build a Propylene and Derivatives Plant. It will be located at Alexandria governorate in Egypt. The plant will produce 500,000 metric tonnes a year of propylene. The project is one of the big investments of the Company. It aims to produce Polypropylene utilizing Propane as a feedstock. The project aims to utilize local propane produced by GASCO at Alexandria instead of its export, to produce propylene and its further derivatives, in order to satisfy local market and export the surplus. An USÂ’s chemical company will also license propriety technology for the facility. The plant will allow Sidpec to expand its product portfolio and take advantage of domestically produced propane to make products including polypropylene. Client has invited companies to submit bids for the EPC contract by April 30, 2019.
