Osool Poultry Project - Al Ghaftain
This project is located in Al Ghaftain in the wilayat of Haima in Al Wusta region, Oman. The scope of work of this project involves construction of a poultry farm with a capacity to produce 150 million hatching eggs per annum. Breeder projects are considered as the backbone of all types of poultry industries in a country as hatched eggs, produced in a breeder project, are the starting point of all poultry activities. The project team finished most of the final detailed design milestones in 2018. In addition, one of the recognizable accomplishments was completing some of the commercial activities, including tendering and awarding of enabling work contracts and machinery. A company has signed an agreement with client affiliated company to provide over $77.9 million (RO30 million) Islamic project finance to set up the project. The project promoters include renowned poultry names, including A'saffa Foods, A'Namaa Poultry, Sohar Poultry, Delmon Poultry as well as multilateral organisations Gulf Investment Corporation (GIC) and the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID). The project is the first-of-its-kind and will ensure smooth supply of hatching eggs to poultry farms in the sultanate as well as other GCC countries.
