This project involves exploration of Block 72 concession of Oman. The onshore oil field will span an area of 3,530 square kilometres located in central Oman adjacent to the Mukhaizna development. Client has signed an exploration and production agreement with a company for this development. The signing ceremony of Oil Field Exploration - Block 72 took place at the Ministry of Oil and Gas (MOG), attended by the Chairman of Occidental PetroleumÂ’s Board of Directors along with other members of the Board, officials from the Ministry and a number of Occidental executives. The company will gather geological and geophysical studies, 2D and 3D seismic data acquisition and drill wells during the exploration periods. In December, Oman signed two agreements giving Occidental Petroleum the rights to explore for oil and natural gas in concessions 51 and 65. The development is expected to be completed in Q4 of 2023(Fourth quarter of 2023).
