Onshore Oil Field Exploration Project - Block 7
This project involves construction of Block 7 of an onshore oil field spread over an area of 2,300 square kilometres in Oman. Juan Manuel Delgado, Country Manager for DEAs, said: As a long-term strategic investor with extensive international oil and gas experience, DEA is fully committed to contributing to the development of Oil Field. Oil investigation organizations penetrated an aggregate of 53 investigation wells in 2016: 29 of them are claimed by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO); Occidental Oman has six; government-possessed Oman Oil Company Exploration and Production (OOCEP) has four; and the rest of the 14 investigation wells are partitioned among different administrators. Recently, Oman has appeared to favour local investment on the upstream front, as shown by ARA Petroleums acquisition of Block 44 from the Thai national oil company PTTEP in 2016, in addition to OOCEPs successful bid for two blocks in the 2016 licensing round. Block 7 also had succed, securing Block 7 in the Governorate of Wusta in April 2016. Client has signed an exploration and production agreement with the leading E&P LLC to develop this block.
