  • OnGoing Project
  • Abu Dhabi
  • Urban Construction, Leisure

This project involves construction of My City Center Masdar Mall within the heart of Masdar City in Abu Dhabi. The mall will have 60 outlets across 18,000 square meters of gross leasable area, including a Magic Planet family entertainment center, a 5,760 square meters Carrefour Hypermarket, a City Center Clinic to provide community-focused health care services, and dining options for both residents and professionals within Masdar City. The single-level mall will also have shaded parking for 430 vehicles on its rooftop through the use of photovoltaic panels in line with Masdar City's eco-friendly strategy. The mall will be served by integrated transport links, including an Abu Dhabi Metro line running along the main boulevard with a station situated next to the mall, within easy walking distance. The new mall is expected to cater to the daily shopping needs of more than 75,000 consumers in surrounding areas. KEO International Consultants has contributed in designing innovative plans for efficient energy and water consumption as part of an overall plan to obtain an Estidama Pearl rating. The project will adopt an innovative waste management strategy to divert a minimum of 70 percent of the total solid waste generated away from landfill, and collect and segregate food waste and landscaping waste for composting off-site.It also plans to reduce overall energy consumption at the mall by 40 percent annually. All lighting in the mall will be of the energy-efficient LED variety while the mall will generate 20 percent of its electricity requirements from solar panels on the roof.
