Manar Mall Expansion Project

  • OnGoing Project
  • Northern Emirates
  • Urban Construction, Leisure

The project is about expansion of an existing Manar Mall, the biggest shopping centre to double the retail space from 30,000 square meters to 60,000 square meters, including addition of 80 retail destinations, taking the total number of retail outlets to 164 in Ras Al Khaimah. It will include many new international stores, an enlarged entertainment area and other new facilities. The mall is already home to major international chains, including Carrefour, Marks & Spencer, H&M, Paris Gallery, Novo Cinemas and Funcity. The single-level expansion will provide excellent water-front exposure and views over the local mangroves, creating interest from Fand B, fashion retailers and more international brands. The mallÂ’s gross leasable area (GLA) almost double in size, from approximately from 27,000 square meters to 55,000 meters square . It will attract more customers and offer quality amenities to the people of the surrounding area. The expansion will include retail outlets, dining facilities and entertainment area. Construction work planned for the project includes the construction of a G+2 and a G+3 carpark; a family entertainment centre that will feature the Middle East and North AfricaÂ’s tallest indoor drop tower; a food court; and a promenade looking out on one of the largest natural mangroves in Ras Al Khaimah. A Local Engineering & Contracting has been awarded the main contract, worth $62 million. Construction is scheduled to commence in March 2015 and earmarked for completion by third quarter of 2016. Philippines-based a group has designed the expansion of this mall along with refurbishment of the existing mall. A subsidiary of the Group is developing the project to complement the ambitions of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), which aims to attract one million tourists to the countryÂ’s northern emirate next year.
