King Abdulaziz International Airport Expansion Project (Phase 2)

This project involves the expansion of Phase 2 of the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The development involves the expansion to increase the airport's capacity to accommodate 43 million passengers per year and increase by 80 million passengers by 2035. The airport expansion includes a 670,000 square metres passenger terminal complex with a twin crescent footprint. It will include 46 contact gates, 94 boarding bridges, lounges, an airside hotel, food and retail facilities. Scope of work includes: • Construction of Airport terminal, • Aircraft ramp, • Car parking, • Aircraft parking, • Fire and rescue services, • Maintenance and facilities area, • Safety and Quality assurance area, • Public and staff toilets, • Ground staff rooms, • Enquiries area, • Royal Lounges, • Other VIP lounges, • Prayer rooms, • Centralized control tower. The development is currently in planning stage and is expected to be completed by December 2025. According to a report, the $1.8 billion King Khalid International Airport Expansion Terminal 3 & 4 of Phase 2 in Saudi Arabia is on hold.
