Industrial Waste Treatment Plant Project
Design, procurement, construction and commissioning of an industrial waste treatment plant capable of handling waste from refineries. This plant will be located at the Ruwais complex of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC ) 250 kilometers west of Abu Dhabi City. It will treat industrial waste from all of ADNOC's affiliates across Abu Dhabi. Spanish contractor has been awarded the main contract, worth $263 million. The contract will be carried out by Grupo ACS's engineering subsidiary, Intecsa Industrial . This project includes industrial sewage receiving station, sewage pumping stations, pressurised sewage and irrigation lines, and two days storage capacity irrigation tank. The project will treat up to 25,000-meter cube per day of raw sewage, with a designed expandable capacity of 30,000-meter cube per day. Besides being eco-friendly, the plant will also be capable of producing high-quality effluent that can be re-used for landscaping and irrigation purposes within the complex. Work is due to commence in June 2016 and take (39) months to complete, finishing in the second half of 2019. Industrial waste treatment describes the processes used for treating wastewater that is produced by industries as an undesirable by-product. After treatment, the treated industrial wastewater (or effluent) may be reused or released to a sanitary sewer or to a surface water in the environment.
