  • Gas Processing, Oil & Gas

This project involves development of the Gharraf oil field, south of Iraq - Phase 2. The project is about Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for the second-phase development of an oil field. The onshore oil field was discovered and contains oil in cretaceous reservoirs. The field is 17.5km long and 5.5km wide. It is estimated to hold 1.3 billion barrels of oil reserves. The current production capacity of the field is 35,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd). It is expected to increase to 230,000bopd. The construction of the initial surface facilities for production has been completed. The facilities include a degassing facility with two trains of 50,000 barrels a day each, eight storage tanks, piping, atmosphere flares and other ancillary infrastructure. Scope of work entails construction of a new gas treatment plant with capacity of 170 million cubic feet a day and a central processing facility with (3 Nos.) 55,000 barrel a day production trains. The Consortium of Petroliam Nasional and South Oil Company plans to build phase 2 of the Gharraf oilfield redevelopment project in North of Nassiriya, Iraq. The project covers the construction of a gas processing plant with a capacity of 170,000,000 cu.ft/d of gas with related facilities. Client has invited companies to submit bids for the EPC contract in August 2014. Switzerland-based oil field services company International has been appointed to carry out the front-end engineering and design (FEED) work for the new facilities.
