Gas Train Project - Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery

This project involves construction of the fifth gas train in Kuwait. Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the development of a new gas train at Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery with capacity to process 805 million cubic feet of gas a day and 106,000 barrels a day of condensates.The objective is increasing the gas processing capacity to meet upstream capacity increase in Kuwait company and Kuwait Company in line with company refining plan to produce high value products such as Ethane, Propane, Butane and Gasoline. The undertaking includes development of a fourth melted oil gas (LPG) line otherwise called train with a related pipeline works. The new office will be the fourth unit with a limit for each day of gas and condensate from existing oil fields in North and Southeast Kuwait. Scope of work includes FEED Pre-treatment, Natural Gas Liquid Recovery, Fractionation, Product Treatment, Propane Refrigeration and Deep Refrigeration, Sour Water Stripper, De-mineralized Water Plant, Fuel Gas Treatment, matching Utilities, Flare & Tie-ins with the existing facilities to increase gas treating capacity. Client is expected to issue a tender for the main contract in early 2012. UK has been awarded the project management consultancy (PMC) contract. It will prepare front-end engineering and design (FEED) work for the proposed gas train, which will separate associated gas produced in the north and southeast of the country into its basic components. FEED work will take six to seven months to complete before the train can be tendered. In the meantime, the client will determine whether it can use the same technology, materials and designs used in the fourth gas train. Contact Person name has not been disclosed.
