Etihad Railway Project - Phase 2
This project is in Abu Dhabi - Phase 2. The project is consisting with the task of Construction of a 628-kilometer-long railway network. The project involves integration, testing and commissioning management that includes integration with the civil works, tracks, rolling stock facilities, signaling and train control, centralized train control, comprehensive communications system including radio, fiber optic backbone, CCTV, public address, telephone, supervisory control and data acquisition, asset protection, depot control. The project also involves the construction of involves the construction of 200 km of mainline line in Abu Dhabi and a 40 km branch line to Khalifa port. The network is mainly double track, designed for mixed-use traffic, equipped with an in-cab European signaling system, is of standard gauge, and is being built to accommodate double-stack container. Client is set to issue construction tenders for the second phase of this railway network, which will run 628 km long connecting the country's sea ports and Phase I of the project. Phase 2 will connect the railway from Mussafah, to Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali Port in Dubai, and to the Saudi and Omani borders. Client is looking to appoint project managers for this phase. In order to fast-track the project, the UAE cabinet has approved a new federal rail law.
