The project involves construction of 500 villas with each cluster featuring a central wind-tower, solar-shaded parking lots, pedestrianised streets and five playgrounds. It also includes a community mall, a central green spine, an equestrian Centre, horse tracks, cycling and jogging tracks, said a top official and all project infrastructural works. Dubai Sustainable City project will be located in Dubailand and cover an area of 5 million square feet. The community will also have a green belt with 20,000 trees and a 5,000 square feet canal, a 600,000 square feet solar park and a water management system that will recycle 100% of waste water. Client is expected to issue a tender for the main construction contract in February 2014. The master planning and project design has been developed by the in-house team. A Local Engineering is working on the mixed-use (retail, offices and mosque), while another Consulting Architects & Engineers are the consultants on the school, country club, resort, sustainability centre of excellence and planetarium.
